Mommy School!

I found this cool link through Pinterest (my current obsession) for Mommy School.
http://www.oopseydaisyblog.com/mommy-school
They have lots of neat ideas surrounding a theme and even a Bible verse to correspond with the theme. I felt drawn back to my Preschool teacher days but both the girls loved the activities. Maddie kept asking "What activity can we do next?". The theme this week was the zoo so the girls were able to trace the letter Z, learn about a verse from the story of Noah's Ark and many more activities! Here's some pictures of the girls "painting" animal crackers. The paint is purple frosting so they enjoyed eating their masterpieces afterwards. I hope to do several activities a week with the girls since we all had fun and can't get outside much these next months.

Best of Friends

Charlie and Catherine are usually trying to hold hands when they're laying near each other. Yesterday they were both rolling towards each other on the floor I just hope they continue to be the best of friends growing up! I caught this quick picture when they were sitting on the couch while I got their bottles ready.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from Maddie, Kalee, Charlie and Catherine!
Maddie and Kalee are very excited about their Valentine's parties at school since we got cards with temporary tattoos (their most recent obsession). I hope this isn't reflective of their rebellious years!

This is my favorite photo from our photo shoot which involves lots of bribes, funny noises, and yelled directions all to get 4 kids to look at the camera and smile or at least not frown

Here's a behind the scenes look of what it looks like after a photo shoot, the girls decided to get some pillows and have a "slumber party" with the blankets we used

6 months

Happy Half Birthday to my sweet babies Charlie and Catherine! February 3rd was a great day for celebrations since it was the twins' half birthday and Aunt Kara's quarter of a century birthday! I have already begun planning C&C's first birthday party for cowgirls and cowboys. The exciting part is I was able to rent a picnic shelter at our local park so there will be a playground for all the kiddos. Writing down the invitation list I noticed that all our cousins and friends are boys! Charlie thought he would be outnumbered but there will only be three girls (Maddie, Kalee and Catherine) at their 1st birthday party.
Catherine is still my sweet, thumb sucking baby girl. She lets you know when she's hungry but will be happy to be put to bed awake and fall asleep on her own. She likes to watch the older girls and isn't interested in rolling over although she is able to do it. She also loves bottles and doesn't care too much for food although she'll eat whatever I give her. She's my easy-going gal!

Charlie is my happy baby boy. He loves to babble when he's playing on the floor and will roll over almost instantly if he's put on his belly. I can already tell he'll be into things once he's mobile. If I put him in his Bumbo seat on the table, he tries to get out by arching his back or grab whatever he can reach (usually napkins). He enjoys playing with toys on the floor but doesn't like to put himself to sleep (he would rather be rocked). He also LOVES food and will whine like a dog if I give a spoonful to his sister. Such a bouncing, big boy!

Feeding C&C

I've started giving the twins baby food since they are 6 months this week. They have been doing really well with rice cereal and now I've added pears, sweet potatoes, green beans and squash. Their feeding time is a little crazy since I feed them both at the same time. Catherine eats like a lady and will wait patiently while Charlie wimpers until he can get another bite. It's funny how I can't remember what it's like to feed one baby, must've been quieter :) Always an adventure with these two!

Pictures

Here are some pictures of how we're spending our not so winter months. Playdates, painting and even the park!

Happy Birthday Kalee!

Kalee Anne celebrated her 2nd birthday on January 28th. We started a new tradition by celebrating all week: we went to the Newport Aquarium on Wednesday, Chick-Fil-A playland on Thursday, cupcakes and presents on Friday and a birthday dinner on Saturday. Kalee enjoyed celebrating like a princess and would say "my birthday" when anyone mentioned the word "birthday". We had to break the news to her this week that her birthday was over but she's getting rewarded for using the potty like a big girl already. She seems ready to be fully potty trained by next week!
